Leo's an idiot.

Or the writers just suck at plotting...

It was awful, simplistic stuff today. If you were planning to try and catch someone out, you wouldn’t leave your phone lying around or turn your back with a USB key so easily grabbable. It was all so obvious and because the plotting was so dumb, there was zero tension. There has been some great stuff in recent week. I just hope, like last year after the highs of the Andrea/Dee story, we don’t dumb down again to such nonsense.

It was ridiculous. It’s a shame as I liked the Jimmy & Sheila plots.

The Paul/Toadie scene seemed very much a repeat of Paul’s earlier scene with Rafael where he said he’d hand himself in if he were guilty, they could’ve just shown that scene and the scene about Leo going to find Dakota in the recap and they wouldn’t have needed it. I think it was hastily written as the episode was coming up short, hence Toadie being in his shorts touting for legal business and almost every scene having multiple establishing shots.

I've decided Leo has to be jetlagged. Otherwise he would have been more on the ball.

Is it just me or did the scenes today seem very old school Neighbours in terms of pacing? Everything seemed to have time to breathe rather than just getting straight to the point. Again there were the multiple establishing shots, but not as many.

For example, the Steph & Elly scene at Harold’s seemed very natural, we got a bit of mutual chat about Ben (which showed their limited connection) before the Mark chat.

We then had the scene with Paige & Terese which flowed from outside into Lassiter’s with the Paul interjection.

They do need to get the sound mixing in Harold’s a bit better, have the background noise & music a bit louder to make it seem less like everyone is having really loud conversations for everyone to hear.

I liked the Anne reference from Paul which was nicely done, as was the heart to heart with Paige & Terese.

This whole Brennan house room shortage is bull - where was Fay staying when she visited?

Also, they rented their spare room to Daniel before, are we meant to believe that two of either Mark, Aaron or Tyler were sharing to rent out a room to him?

I wish they’d be consistent with the bedrooms, it’s the same with the Kennedys, whenever Karl’s in the doghouse he sleeps on the couch but they pretty consistently have four bedrooms whenever there’s residents to fill them.

Chloe was added to the credits very quickly.

I was very distracted by her hair, particularly in the night scenes at Number 28.

I already dislike Chloe.

I also think 2017 is happening all over again. The year started with a really strong well plotted and written storyline and now that it’s done, it’s business as usual.

I dislike Chloe too. I feel like the show is turning into Hollyoaks full of bland 20-somethings.

Agreed about the structure of the show too. Things really need to pick up.
